Background
Ms. Judy Devadawson is an ex-english teacher holds a degree in languages as well as Phd. Certificate in Counselling from Vellore Christian College of Tamil Nadu. She has been serving
the communities of North East Province of Sri Lanka for the last ten years in various fields such as Child rights, community empowerment and against gender based violence. WACCO is registered with Ministry of Social welfare and started the activities in the year 2002.

Promote and encourage lasting peace, through striving to help the communities' physical, psychological and social well being
Mission

To strive to eliminate all forms
of violence against women and children and to
support advocacy, campaigns, lobbying towards any
forms of discrimination against the above groups

To take steps to integrate
functional literacy for dropouts to ensure equal
access and completion of their educational levels

To promote health education at
rural level and within the war affected community to
raise awareness on public health

To pay special attention to youth
and women with special reference to persons with
disabilities
