NAME : B RAVI
CODE NO. : P88 124

My name is Ravi. I belong to a landless family in Edigapalli Village in Punganur Mandal. I was sponsored in 1992. I studied till class 12 near my village and due to financial constraint I decided to start my own Shaving Saloon which is my family tradition. I also play the clarinet for special occasions. I am now married and have a son.

My most cherished memories of school life in AeA GVS schools were attending the summer camps, learning music, celebrating the national festivals in schools and writing to sponsors. The sponsorshp programme has improved my confidence level and given me good livelihood opportunities. With the help of AeA, GVS had promoted various micro finance activities through the self help groups and also helped them to avail loans and to tap the government schemes. Through AeA’s support school buildings and drinking water tanks were constructed in my village. I am happy that I was one of the ambassodors for the development in my village.

My name is A. Suberia Begam. My father’s name is K. Abdul Raheem. My mother’s name is A. Rhyhen Begam. My native place is Soriparaipatti in Natham area.

I have one younger sister and two younger brothers. I studied my primary education from I to V std. in Sarva Seva Primary School at Soriparaipatti. I was sponsored by Aide et Action. Our teachers gave individual attention to each and every student and gave practices for effective learning.

My father died when I was studying in V std. I was upset and afraid that I would not be able to continue my studies. My paternal uncles helped our family. I continued my studies in Sarva Seva Higher Secondary School at Iyyanarpuram where I stayed in the school boarding. In this school also, our teachers were affectionate with me and treated me as their own sister. They taught lessons to us very well. Their affection and good teaching gave confidence to develop my life style. I cannot forget those days !

I stayed in my uncle’s house in Madurai and went to special coaching class to take the entrance exam for Engineering course. I got place in Sethu Institute of Technology. I did a four year course in Electronic and Communication Engineering. I spent my college life happily. I finished my Engineering course in March 2002. I got first class. My family was very happy. Then I tried for a job. Now I am working as a Lecturer in the Sethu Institution of Technology where I studied. I get a salary of Rs.7,000/- per month.

My younger sister is doing III year B.Sc. – Lab Technology in Madurai Meenakshi Mission Hospital. My younger brother is studying first year Printing Technology in Arasan Ganesan Polytechnic. My youngest brother is studying in X std. My aim is to develop my family.

I am proud to say that the foundation I got from Sarva Seva Schools enabled me to shine now. Being a fatherless muslim girl I got this opportunity through ASSEFA and Aide et Action. I am thankful to my sponsor who helped me upto High School. I and my family extend our sincere thanks to ASSEFA and Aide et Action for this noble help.
