Development Thinking and Strategy of the Organisation

RASS believes that development of the poor without refining their circumstances is neither conceivable nor sustainable. Development can be self-sustaining only if it brings about a change in the entire socio-economic matrix governing their lives. The development paradigm of RASS revolves around four crucial elements namely:

  • Human resource development

  • Attitudinal changes

  • Economic changes

  • Self management

The strategies for the effective introduction of RASS interventions:

  • Bottom-up planning and participatory planning

  • Programme implementation through CBOs

  • Capacity building inputs for stakeholders

  • Providing adequate infrastructure for the community
