Main Activities for 2007
Quality Education
- Conducting enrolment campaign in 25 villages
- Establishing 2 ECE centers with community participation
- Establishing 3 residential bridge centers for children not attending schools through SSA
- Conducting AIE centre for children not attending regular school
- Running of EGS centre
- Assessing the competency of children in reading, writing and arithmetic in 18 schools
- Developing curriculum and TLM in appropriation with children competency level
- Up scaling the learning’s of children competency through SSA in 14 blocks
- Formation of new clubs and strengthening of existing children clubs in schools
- Facilitating children to collect theme based information and documenting it through experience sharing
Livelihood Education
- Running of iLEAD centre
- Identification of other trades for imparting training
- Employability training for 420 youths
- Formation of farmers association in 25 project villages
- Conducting awareness through road shows on livelihood opportunities
- Conducting EDP trainings for members of SHGs
- Organising seminars for youth
- Establishing linkage with potential employers for placements
- Initiation of on farm/ off farm activities for small and marginal farmers and landless coolies
- Implementation of watershed project through NABARD/ Oxfarm, UK funding
Inclusive Education
- Organizing awareness campaign on education for children with disabilities in 10 blocks of Dindigul district
- Conducting survey and assessment camps in 10 blocks
- Facilitating access to services and assistive devices to CWD/PWD in collaboration with government and other NGOs
- Establishing resource centres in 10 blocks
- Promoting day care centres in 10 blocks
- Establishing inclusive play park in all the resource centres
- Organizing and conducting training programs for parents and community
- Formation and strengthening of self help groups for persons with disabilities in 10 blocks
- Mainstreaming all capable children in regular schools
- Providing preparatory and special education for children with severe disabilities
- Providing livelihood training for persons with disabilities
Women's Empowerment and Education
- Formation of 50 self help groups among the left out women
- Strengthening of 30 existing SHGs
- Capacity building on group concept for SHG members
- Establishing linkages with banks and other financial institutions
- Promotion of village organization through networking of SHGs
- Increase women participation in VEDCs
Resource Mobilisation
- Preparatory activities for resource mobilisation (printing of communication material, website and brochure)
- Developing proposals and follow-up
- Conducting workshops on leveraging resources from beneficiaries, government agencies, banks and donors
- Conducting preparatory workshop for resource mobilisation strategizing activities
- Initiate other innovative activities and events
- Organizing workshops and seminars to interface between target groups, government officials and other funding sources
- Organizing trainings for project staff on preparation of proposals and other techniques of resource mobilization
- Writing project proposals to raise funds for thrust areas in respective government departments and other sources
- Establishing linkages/networks with funding agencies and government departments
